I didn’t start my career in a boardroom; I started it on the water.

Born and raised in BC, the outdoors wasn’t just a hobby, it was a way of life. My first real job was as a river rafting guide on the Elaho River near Squamish, and before long I was selling ski bus & rafting packages at UBC. I was hooked! Not just on the mountains and the lifestyle, but on the energy of bringing people together and creating incredible experiences.

That passion led me and my brother-in-law to start Destination Snow & Tours. What started as a simple idea grew into Canada’s largest group ski bus tour operator and expanding in to other tour offerings (team building, wine tours, stagette packages, etc.). We provided bus ski tours for groups of up to 2500, entertaining over 7,000 clients a year and managing teams of 50+ staff. We became known for our quality, our organization, and the kind of loyal client relationships that only come from genuinely caring about the experience you deliver.

After selling Destination Snow & Tours in 2016, I channeled that same drive into new ventures with a Schooley Mitchell consulting franchise, which helped businesses reduce their expenses, earning “Top New Franchisee in North America”, “Top 5 in Revenue”, and “Top New Client Acquisitions”, then co-founding the first mobile E-bike Rental Franchise System in North America.

30 years later, I’ve built, scaled, and sold businesses across Tourism, Retail, and Franchising. I’ve managed P&Ls, built sales teams, optimized operations, reduced expenses and navigated the real challenges that business owners face every day.

I started Trailhead Consulting because I’m genuinely passionate about BC, the outdoors, and the people who build businesses here! I love sitting down with business owners, learning about what they’ve built, understanding their challenges, and figuring out how to move things forward together.

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me skiing, boating, enjoying our family cabin in the Gulf Islands with my two boys, fishing, hiking, or playing hockey. And yes… I’m a long-suffering Canucks fan. It builds character.
